Kessler named 2008 "Health Care Hero"
June 30, 2008
NJBIZ, the state-wide business news organization, presented Kessler with its 2008 Healthcare Hero award citing the "excellence in programs, treatments and quality of life for their patients" and the significant impact the hospital has on the overall quality of healthcare in New Jersey.
In accepting the award for "Physical Therapy - Rehabilitation Center of the Year," Kessler President Robert Brehm said, "I am deeply honored to accept this award on behalf of the staff and patients at Kessler Institute. We are often told by patients and their families that our more than 1700 clinicians and support staff are their ‘heroes’ because of the care they provide. But the true heroes are our patients who understand how life can change in an instant… and who work to overcome daunting medical, physical, cognitive and emotional challenges with the greatest of courage. It is their determination and, indeed, their heroic achievements that inspire us each day."
Kessler was singled out for the award by a panel of independent judges who noted the hospital’s pioneering leadership and advanced treatment for individuals with catastrophic injuries.
