IRD Grand Rounds CME Lecture Series : Develop Cultural Competence for Cross-cultural Care
The design of healthcare within western society can create a negative impact on culturally and ethnically diverse patients. Culture influences how a patient defines illness, communicates with providers and participates in treatment. Cultural competence is an essential component in rendering effective and culturally responsive care.
This activity is designed to meet the needs of inpatient rehabilitation physicians and other health care providers involved in care planning for patients and their caregivers.
