Dr. Donovan specializes in spinal cord injury medicine and rehabilitation
Dr. Jayne Donovan is Board certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and spinal cord injury medicine. Dr. Jayne Donovan focuses on the care and treatment of individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) and oversees the hospital’s outpatient SCI services.
Dr. Donovan also serves as the associate residency program director in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and is a clinical assistant professor there.
Active in several professional organizations, Dr. Donovan has received numerous awards for excellence in patient care and for research. She has lectured at national conferences on various topics related to spinal cord injury, and has co-authored articles in many journals and industry publications.
Dr. Donovan was awarded her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in biology and Spanish from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York and received her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Farmington. She completed residency at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital - Harvard Medical School in Boston and continued her training through a spinal cord injury fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Prior to joining Kessler Institute in 2017, Dr. Donovan was affiliated with Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
