Phalgun Nori, M.D.
Dr. Nori specializes in neurorehabilitation
Clinical chief Dr. Phalgun Nori specializes in the treatment of traumatic brain injury, brain tumors and stroke, as well as spasticity management. He is board certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and brain injury medicine, and holds additional certification in neural repair and rehabilitation from the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties.
Dr. Nori is serves as the study physician for all clinical trials at Kessler Foundation Stroke Research Center and is the investigator or co-investigator on several clinical trials for brain injury and stroke. He has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals and has presented abstracts at many national conferences.
A clinical assistant professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Dr. Nori is actively involved in the education and training of medical students, residents and fellows.
Dr. Nori is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey, North American Brain Injury Society and New Jersey Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Society.
Dr. Nori earned his medical degree from the University of the West Indies and completed an internship and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Jacobi Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center. He also completed a fellowship in traumatic brain injury and neurorehabilitation at the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute - Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He joined Kessler Institute in 2011.
