MyLan N. Lam, M.D.

Clinical Chief of Spinal Cord Injury Services

Dr. Lam specializes in spinal cord injury medicine.

Board certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and spinal cord injury medicine, Dr. MyLan Lam has served as clinical chief of spinal cord injury services since 2005. She also focuses on stroke, musculoskeletal trauma, neuromuscular disorders, spasticity management, electromyography and wound care. In addition, Dr. Lam is interested in alternative medicine and is a certified acupuncturist.

Dr. Lam is active in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, American Spinal Injury Association and the American Paraplegia Society, where she is a member of the Clinical Practice Committee.

A graduate of the University of Houston, Dr. Lam earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, and a fellowship in spinal cord injury medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). She also received training at the University of California in Los Angeles. Dr. Lam joined Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in 2001.
