Dr. Cooperman specializes in orthopedic and complex medical rehabilitation.

Dr. Todd Cooperman is a staff physiatrist at Kessler Institute’s Saddle Brook campus, experienced in the inpatient and outpatient care of individuals with stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, cancer and multi-trauma. He is also interested in post-COVID recovery medicine.

Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Cooperman has conducted research, published journal articles and presented on a variety of topics related to critical illness neuropathy and myopathy, spinal and orthopedic/musculoskeletal injuries and post-COVID recovery.

He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and has been recognized as a Top Doctor in New Jersey. He holds a faculty appointment at Rutgers Health New Jersey Medical School - Department of Physical Medical and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Cooperman received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from New York’s Sophie Davis of Biomedical Education at The City College of New York. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He completed residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in New Jersey in 1997 and, in 2023, joined Kessler Institute.
